Health Care Reform: Tort reform is needed across the board. Further one size fits all reform will not fix health insurance costs. As a nation we need to develop an insurance industry that offers a wider variety of insurance products tailored to individual needs. We need to create a competitive market place that allows for more insurance carriers to foster competition and create even more competitive pricing across various coverage plans.
Environment: The U.S. Government should be assisting States and Localities with environmental issues. As geographic changes in environment and industry are very diverse, passing uniform legislation such as Cap and Trade will just create undue burden on businesses and tax payers. I would propose the Federal Government provide money to State and Local governments to create local solutions that suit local needs. Incentive programs can be developed for industries and communities that meet milestones for sustaining the environment and our natural resources.
Big Government: It needs to come to an end, enough is enough. We need to overhaul the tax system, stop deficit spending and work with the states to get money back where it belongs. This is the United STATES of America. As the Constitution states in the tenth amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Individual Rights: The government needs to respect Individual and States’ rights. Government at all levels should be listening to the people, not dictating. You as the individual know whats best for you. Only by allowing people liberty can we achieve true freedom.
